Raboso del Piave

Raboso is the native wine, symbol of the Marca Trevigiana. The typicality of the autochthonous is respected: acidity, tannins and flavor are elegant and balanced. The tannin is sweet thanks to the long maturation in wood. Made of 100% Raboso Veronese grapes and aged 7 years in used tonneau. It is a wine destined for longevity. Its evolution will give us further nuances. It is prefect with grilled meats, stews and braised red meats, as well as aged cheeses.

Growing Region: Motta di Livenza - Treviso Province - Veneto Region
Altitude: 9 m A.M.S.L.
Soil: Motta di Livenza Vineyard Soil - flood plain origins of natural clay and limestone.
Exposure: east/west
Trellis System: spur-trained cordon
Plant Density: 2.000/3.000 plants per hectare
Age of vines: 54/15 years



Vinification

After maceration on the skins, at controlled temperature, for 30 days, and crushing, the wine was decanted to steel vats where it stayed until the malolactic fermentation process was finished. The wine was then transferred to used tonneau where it was left to age for 7 years.
The length of aging softens the typical rustic nature of this wine made from vines native to the Treviso region. 



Tasting notes

Colour: ruby red.
Bouquet: Vinous. Ripe red fruit is perceived. The scent of wood is not intrusive. The perception of alcohol is not long in coming. 
Taste: the typicality of the autochthonous is respected: acidity, tannins and flavor are elegant and balanced. The tannin is sweet thanks to the long maturation in old barriques. Notes of ripe blackberry and ripe cherry are perceived wrapped in an alcohol content that gives a sensation of sweet warmth in the mouth. Long and persistent. It is a wine destined for longevity. Its evolution will give us further nuances.
