SEE YOU AT PANEVIN

The torch of tradition gleams high at the Moletto winery. The evening of January 5th, as has been the case for the last decade or so, the great bonfire that represents the Panevin will be lit. Tradition in the Veneto region holds that from early times, the local population lit fires in the countryside on the Left Bank of the Piave River on Epiphany Eve to light up the night sky and aid the Wise Men in their travels towards the Holy Manger of the Christ Child. In reality, Panevin goes back even further to ancient days when the large fire symbolized the burning of poverty and its exorcism. Mario Stival revived this celebration many years ago and it continues today with Chiara, Mauro and Giovanni who, in the winery, prepare a splendid evening open to all.
