MOLETTO IN THE “ANNUARIO DEI MIGLIORI VINI ITALIANI 2014” BY LUCA MARONI

Annual review of best Italian wines 2014 by Luca Maroni

BEST WINE
SAUVIGNON 2012 90 points
Sensations: its grape is shinely mature, its thickness is floral and fruity, the aromatic luminosity is expressive. What a voice, what a neatness, what a density. It’s a strong distillate with soft lymph, the perfume intensity, the neatness of its technique, enological transformation – all this make this wine an example of rare expressive aromatic integrity. The notes of peach, lavender, pear and menthol are fully intonated, they vividly live in the wine all together. By touch you feel the rare thickness, while tasting you feel the marvelous acidity and softness balance, fantastic tasting tenderness. But this wine is a perfume wine, and it’s fragrance is delightful in its softness and admirable juiciness.
It’s great white wine, that one of Moletto Sauvignon 2012. The personality of this wine is distinctive and refined, balanced in fullness, soft and wraparound. It’s so magnificent to deserve “chapeau” of the greatest sommelier of Italy.

The Conclusive Comment
Moletto’s purpose is growing in content: in juiciness of its fruit and wines. In the glass it’s noticed invariable high-leveled enology technique which permits to obtain the integrity of perfumes. Floral aroma of Pinot Bianco 2012, perfume of fragrant and pulpy melon of Pinot Grigio Piave Doc 2012.
The two Sparklings are the best in its convincingness and fragrance along with Prosecco Extra Dry Treviso Doc 2012 with its gorgeous aromatic pleasantness. Well-fitted red wines, never sour or bitter, are always balanced between softness and tannicity. The best performances are spicy Merlot Piave Doc 2011, wraparound Malbech 2011 and intensive, clear Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2011. The perfume purity of Cabernet 2012 is magnificent. There is no doubt that it’s the best for clearness and oxidative integrity with its blackberry chlorophyll. The best of this group is the great wine Sauvignon 2012, due to the excellent density, extraordinary softness and integrity of aroma of its apricot fruit.
