"DOLCI SAPORI TREVIGIANI": IN SEARCH OF "VINO PASSITO"

The Piazza Borsa, located in the heart of downtown Treviso (capital of the Marca Trevigiana geographical area), on Sunday, June 1st, hosted the gastronomic event "Dolci … sapori trevigiani". The event was sponsored by the Province and City of Treviso, as well as the Treviso-area Chamber of Commerce, and was focused on the tasting of "vini passiti" (wines made from dried grapes) accompanied by cheeses and desserts typical of the Treviso region. Twenty-six wineries were present, each with their own vino passito. Visitors were able to enjoy the various combinations offered, some quite unusual and creative. Moletto Winery offered its passito, "Solamini et Amicis", a good meditation wine to be sipped on its own. Excellent with foie gras, in this Treviso square, "Solamini et Amicis" once again demonstrated that it is the perfect accompaniment to aged cheeses and dark chocolate. After the success of this year's event, all signs are go for its return in 2009.
