NEW ADDITIONS TO THE MOLETTO MEDAL SHOWCASE

DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS 2008
Bronze Medal for Colmello Rosso 2001 IGT Veneto Orientale
The exclusive characteristics of Colmello Rosso 2001 won over the jury of this international competition organized by Decanter magazine, one of the most prestigious publications for this sector in the world. The Decanter World Wine Awards is the most influential wine competition on an international level. This year, a total of 9219 wines participated, over twice as many as five years ago when the competition was first organized. This year, the over fifty judges were even tougher than ever, and their severity was mirrored in the medals awarded with only 64% of the participating wines receiving recognition. Colmello Rosso 2001 IGT Veneto Orientale is truly a unique wine and the jury's evaluation underscores this. And, as can be seen below, this was not the only award it has received.

INTERNATIONAL WINE CHALLENGE LONDON 2008
Silver Medal for Colmello Rosso IGT Veneto Orientale Edizione Speciale 2000
Bronze Medal for Cabernet Sauvignon 'Selecti' 2003 IGT Veneto Orientale
Special Mention for La Pisara Primitivo 2007 Salento
Three red wines, all very different from each other, received recognition at this prestigious London challenge: the complex, intriguingly many-faceted bouquet of Colmello Rosso, the spicy scent of Cabernet Sauvignon 'Selecti' and the charm of a wine from southern Italy, La Pisara Primitivo from Salento. Excellent results for these Moletto wines that were examined by a body of over 400 judges who dedicated two weeks of intense work to evaluating wines from over 40 countries.

LA SELEZIONE DEL SINDACO 2008
Silver Medal for Cabernet Sauvignon Selecti 2003 IGT Veneto Orientale
Silver Medal for Colmello Rosso IGT Veneto Orientale Edizione Speciale 2000
For the first time in its history, the Moletto Winery participated in this unusual initiative, "The Mayor's Choice", organized by the Città del Vino national association with the scientific sponsorship of the Organisation International de la Vigne e du Vin of the Università di Udine, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza and the Istituto di Viticoltura. It is the only international wine competition that involves the joint participation of the winery (in this case, Moletto) and the Town in which the vineyards are located (Motta di Livenza and Pramaggiore). Its goal is to promote quality wines with limited output that are the fruit of tradition and grown within a specific area, as well as to publicize their existence over the Internet. The 2008 event saw the participation of 915 wines from 203 towns. In all, 51 gold medals and 229 silver medals were awarded. Prominent among the award-winning regions were Veneto and Sicily. A full 87.25 points were awarded Cabernet Sauvignon Selecti 2003 IGT Veneto Orientale and 85.25 given by the jury to Colmello Rosso Edizione Speciale 2000, result of the skilful mixture of grapes created by Giovanni Stival. The official awards ceremony will take place June 26th in the Campidoglio, Rome’s city hall, in the splendid Protomoteca hall.
